Trip to Oregon/California Coast

For our 5 year anniversary, Lionel and I decided to take a road trip through the Oregon/California coast line down to San Francisco and back through Reno. The trip was going to be around 1800 miles and we had a week to do it. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. So our our first stop was in Lincoln City, OR. It is so beautiful there.
We stayed at Chinook Winds Resort and it was right on the edge of the water.

The beach was amazing...we love the ocean!

We had breakfast at a local place called Pig & Pancake and when we were leaving we had an unexpected visitor waiting outside...

On the road again...

Our next stop was in Crescent City, CA. This is Battery Point Lighthouse early in the morning. It was so foggy but still a very nice place.

The Redwoods are absolutely amazing...these pictures don't do it justice. They are huge!!! This is me looking up in awe and my little car looks like a toy car in comparison.

Our next stop was at the Trees of Mystery where we got to see Paul Bunyan and Babe. Lionel wanted to get really close and personal with Babe's hind quarters :)

We also rode on the sky trail which is like a ski lift but it takes you way above the redwoods. It was incredibly scary especially since I am afraid of heights but the view on top was amazing. Definately worth it! It was my favorite part of our entire trip.

Finally, we arrived in San Francisco. We actually stayed in Tiburon which is across the bay. We rode a ferry into San Francisco and that was a lot of fun.

Alcatraz...

Overall, it was a good trip and it went by really fast...can't wait for our next vacation.

Graduations!

Well this month has just been sooo busy for us because we had two graduations. My big brother, Omar, graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from BSU. We are so proud of him for that huge accomplishment. This is Omar, Christina, Anthony, and Camren.

A couple weeks later my youngest brother, Irving, graduated from high school. It was so great to see them both accomplish something so big in their lives. June should be a more mellow month for us...we hope!

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we decided to go to the zoo. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. Here is a picture of my mom, dad, and little sister Mona. My little sister was more excited than all of us combined to be at the zoo.

This is my mom and me right before my brother left for prom. She is quite a bit shorter than me so I had to get down to take this picture.

My Little Brother's Prom

Last weekend I went home to St. Anthony because my little brother was going to prom and it was mother's day. I wanted to be there when he left and take a few pictures of him and his date. This is me trying to help him get his tie to look good. It is so exciting to see him go through this and to think that 10 years ago it was me...I am soooo old!

This is my brother and his prom date. Her dress is so beautiful and he looks so good!

Oregon Coast Vacation

This year Lionel and I decided to go to Newport, Oregon for spring break since he couldn't take a lot of time off from work. This is the beautiful scenery we got to see on our way to Newport. Multnomah Falls is right by Hood River, OR and it is just amazing!!! We climbed up the mountain to get to that bridge. Once we were up there we decided to climb all the way to the top. We didn't make it all the way there but we had a good time trying.

That is I-84 down there, so you can see how high up we were. We also had the best cup of coffee I have had in a long time while we were there. Hood River Coffee...really good!
We finally got to Newport and we were in awe with the ocean. It was cloudy most days that we were there but we got some sun, hail, and a lot of wind.

While we were there we went to the aquarium and that was a lot of fun. We got to see sea lions getting fed and they reminded me of giant dogs without legs (we missed Winky and Lola).

Here is Lionel being silly but seriously he is deathly afraid of sharks so this is as close as he will ever get to a shark.

We thought the name of the place and the slogan was pretty cool!

We also visited the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and went all the way to the top. We had to climb 100+ stairs to go see the light bulb that they use. I was surprised at how small it was but it you can see it at least 10 miles away.

So it has been a long time but thanks to Meredith I decided to start posting on here more frequently (I'll try). My husband and I just went to the Oregon coast and it was so nice there. It is still cold and from what I hear it never really gets hot. We visited the light house and we did a lot of walking/hiking.
